Holistic Chinese Massage & Bodywork (Qi Gong Tui'na)
Traditional chinese holistic massage is called Qi Gong Tui'na. It performed over clothes. Using the meridians the muscles, joints, tendons, sinews and deep tissue are massaged and stretched enabling you to relax and your body become softer and more supple. It is wonderful for tension headaches, musculo-skeletal painful as well as injuries and rehabilitation after operations.
Cupping & Moxibustion
Cupping is an age old treatment technique to relax tired muscles and improve the functioning of your organs. Glass cups are place on the back to improve blood flow to the organs. Slide cupping is used after a massage with oil, to release tight muscles.
Moxibustion is a heat treatment performed with charcoal indirectly over problem areas or on a cardboard platform. The deeply penetrating heat at specific points of the meridian pathways can energise you and soothe your aches and pains.
Qi Gong Tuition
Qi Gong exercises lengthen and soften the tendons and muscles, energising you from within. It was originally learnt by monks to keep them healthy, when spending hours in sitting lotus style meditation. It is similar to Tai Chi except simpler. A lot of emphasis is on breathing with fluid movements. A wonderful adjunct to Acupuncture treatment, a great way to reduce stress, back, neck or bony problems. Beneficial for everyone at any age or ability.
